Nawanshahr:- Today, on the call of the United Kisan Morcha, farmers, laborers and pensioners staged a protest in front of the Nawanshahr residence of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Sukhwinder Kumar Sukhi from 11 am to 3 pm. This protest was addressed by Kirti Kisan Union state leader Bhupinder Singh Waraich, district president Surinder Singh Bains, area Aur president Surinder Singh Mehrampur, district president of Kul Hind Kisan Sabha Charanjit Singh Daulat, BKU Rajewal leader Santokh Singh, CITU state secretary Mahan Singh Raudi, IFTU state secretary Avtar Singh Tari, Pensioners Union circle president Kulwinder Singh Atwal, Vijay Kumar, Narinder Mehta, Powercom and Contract Workers Union leader Harpreet Singh, Rural Workers Union leader Kiranjit Kaur and said that the Electricity Amendment Bill 2025, Seed Amendment Bill 2025, unfair free trade agreements with America, privatization of public institutions, anti-labor four labor codes, replaced by MGNREGA, are very fatal for the farmers, laborers, and employees of the country. He said that the trade agreement signed by the Modi government with America will destroy Indian farmers. He said that the police of Bhagwant Mann's government in Bathinda district have repressed the gathered farmers and it is highly condemnable. In fact, the Modi government has sold India to corporates.
Similarly, the electricity amendment and seed bill are also preparing to hand over electricity and seeds to corporates. People will not tolerate this under any circumstances. He demanded restoration of the old pension scheme, repeal of the four labor codes, seed bill 2025, electricity bill 2025. District secretary of Kirti Kisan Union Tarsem Singh Bains, Gurdial Rakkar, Sukhdev Singh Garcha, Bhupinder Singh Kaulgarh, Nirmal Singh Jalwaha, Kulvir Singh were also present in today's protest.
