Hoshiarpur: To review preparations for the Municipal Corporation elections scheduled for July 5, Observer Senu Duggal—appointed by the State Election Commission—conducted a detailed assessment of electoral arrangements today alongside Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ashika Jain and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Nikas Kumar.
District Election Officer Ashika Jain stated that a total of 133,569 voters across 50 municipal wards will exercise their franchise on July 5 between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. She informed that 139 polling stations have been established to ensure the election process is conducted smoothly and peacefully.
She further mentioned that 12 sensitive locations have been identified in view of the elections, and special security and surveillance arrangements have been put in place there. Assistant Commissioner (Under Training) Gurkanwal Singh was also present on the occasion.

Meanwhile, the State Election Commission has appointed IPS officer Gurpreet Singh as the Police Observer for the Municipal Corporation elections.
