Hisar:- The Hisar unit of the OBC Brigade, Haryana, held a meeting today. In this press conference, Karan Singh Ranolia, Chairman of the Discipline Committee, stated that the OBC Brigade, Haryana, along with the youth of the OBC community, will launch a Rath Yatra on 25.04.2018 against the atrocities being committed by the Haryana PSC. These OBC youth are continuing their protest in Panchkula. Despite our repeated efforts, the Haryana government is not considering any of our demands. Through today's press conference, we want to convey this message to the OBC community of Haryana.
Before the last assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had promised the OBC community that if they contribute substantially to the formation of the government by voting overwhelmingly for the BJP in this election, the government would grant 27 percent reservation to OBCs in Class I and Class II jobs, instead of the current 15 percent recommended by the Mandal Commission and the Supreme Court's decision. Chief Minister Saini, upon winning the election, would grant 27 percent reservation to the community with his first stroke of the pen. However, even after more than a year has passed, he has failed to fulfill his promise, succumbing to pressure from the upper castes.
Addressing the press, Dr. S.K. Bagoria, State General Secretary of the OBC Brigade, stated that tickets for a vacant seat in Haryana would soon be distributed by all parties in the state. In this regard, all political parties in the state are requested to give their party tickets for this Rajya Sabha seat to a member of the OBC community. All political parties have consistently ignored the OBC community.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), whose government, thanks to the overwhelming support of the OBC community and helping it win a third term, is deliberately failing to consider any of the OBC community's legitimate demands. Despite knowing that, according to the provisions of the Indian Constitution, a member of this community's vote counts equally with members of other communities, all parties typically award tickets to dominant castes in any election.
Not only the BJP, but the Congress party has also consistently marginalized the OBC community since India's independence in 1947. It is also clarified that after India's independence, the respected Dr. B.R. Ambedkar provided for all types of job and political reservations for the OBC community under Article 340 of the Constitution.
However, the various Congress Party governments formed after independence did not take any initiative to provide job and political reservations to this community. The government of India's first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, constituted the Kaka Kalelkar Commission on January 29, 1953, and the Kaka Kalelkar Commission submitted its report to the government on March 30, 1955.
However, due to pressure from the upper classes, various Congress governments never implemented the Commission's report. Subsequently, the Janata Party government constituted the Mandal Commission on January 1, 1979, which submitted its report to the government on December 31, 1980. However, no subsequent Congress government implemented this report. Ultimately, the Honorable V.P. Singh government implemented the report in August 1990. However, the Bhajan Lal government of that time implemented it significantly late.
However, this Congress government did not fully implement it. Subsequently, the Honorable Bhupendra Hooda government, under pressure from upper castes, also failed to implement the Supreme Court's order in the Indira Sawhney case. Since then, the Congress repeatedly blames the BJP and raises the issue of caste census, yet they did not conduct the census during their tenure from 2005 to 2014.
Thus, during the nearly five-year tenure of the Congress government, they made no significant contribution to the OBC community. They merely coaxed this community to vote like other parties.
However, after coming to power, the government, intoxicated by power, maintained a conservative attitude towards this community due to pressure from the upper classes. This has been the practice of almost all major parties since India's independence. No party is untouched by this.
Therefore, the OBC Group Haryana demands that all parties refrain from giving this Rajya Sabha seat ticket to any OBC member. Otherwise, the OBC Group and the OBC Group will not vote for any party in the upcoming elections that fails to give tickets to this community and makes its contribution to the process of inclusion of this community in the society zero.
Mr. Gulab Singh Dhiman, head of the OBC Group unit, stated that the HPSC, under pressure from the current government and upper classes, is continuously discriminating against OBC candidates. Unnecessary, absurd conditions are being imposed and OBC candidates are being rejected, labeling them as not suitable. The Ira community has been repeatedly appealing to Chief Minister Mr. Ronnie about the community's demands, but he has no time or priority beyond donating to dharamshalas for OBCs.
Similarly, HKRN employees, mostly from Scheduled Castes and OBCs, are being selectively fired by the government. No minister or Honorable Chief Minister is paying attention to this matter, and their concerns are not being heard. Most of these children working at HKRN have already married because of this job, but their marriages are on the verge of breaking up due to the dismissal.
Therefore, we request the present Bharatiya Janata Party government that Mr. Karan Singh Ranolia, Dr. Shrikrishna Bhagoria, Gulab Singh Dhiman, Mr. Joni Sokhal, Mr. Balwant Singh Singh and Mr. Maman Ram Malethia, Mr. Balwant Singh Jogi, Mr. Ramji Lal Suthar, Mr. Nanak Dev Ranolia, Mr. Dayanand, Mr. Balbir Singh Bagri, Mr. Jaisingh Malwal are present.
