Santoshgarh/Una, March 12 (Rajveer Chopra): Santoshgarh player Nitan Sharma performed brilliantly at the 7th Senior National Para Badminton Championship 2026, held in Hyderabad from March 6 to 10, winning three consecutive matches to advance to the quarterfinals. The competition was held at the Gopichand Badminton Academy in Hyderabad.
Nitan Sharma is associated with the Badminton Club of the Municipal Council Santoshgarh and is a student of the Dr. Anand Raj Malik Academy. His achievement was due to the guidance and hard work of his coach Amit Chabba.
In the first match of the competition, Nitan Sharma defeated Punjab player Amit Sharma 15–7 and 15–6.
In the second match, he defeated Ramakrishna L. of Tamil Nadu 15–10 and 15–4.
In the third match, Nitan Sharma defeated Delhi's Vikas Yadav 15–7 and 15–4 to secure his third consecutive victory.
Now in the quarter-finals, Nitan Sharma will face Haryana player Tarun Dhillon, who is considered the number one player in the world rankings.
