Chandigarh, October 3:- Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Shri Ranbir Gangwa said that a new road will be constructed alongside the railway elevated track in Kurukshetra to further improve the traffic system in the city. The government has granted approval for the construction of this road.
He said that the proposed road will be constructed from LC-61C (near University Gate No. 3) to LC-65C (near the old bus stand). The road has been proposed within the railway right of way, and its construction will be subject to obtaining the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Railways and other statutory approvals.
Minister Shri Gangwa said that the proposed road will be approximately 3.20 kilometres long and 7 metres wide. The estimated cost of its construction will be around Rs. 5.75 crore.
Public Works Minister Shri Ranbir Gangwa said that during the Gita Jayanti Mahotsav, solar eclipses and other major religious and public events in Kurukshetra, a large number of devotees and tourists visit the city, resulting in increased traffic pressure on the existing roads. The construction of the new road will provide an alternative route in the area and help reduce traffic congestion.
He said that the road will facilitate the smooth movement of emergency services and will also help strengthen Kurukshetra’s overall traffic system. Besides, it will reduce traffic pressure on the Saharanpur-Kurukshetra-Pehowa route and provide better long-term transportation facilities to the general public.
