Karnal, May 26: The enforcement team of the Karnal Municipal Corporation took action on Tuesday against an illegally operating cattle dairy in the Shiv Colony area, sealing the premises. Despite receiving repeated notices, the dairy operator had neither commenced the construction of a dairy unit within the Pingli Dairy Complex nor paid the outstanding installments; consequently, this enforcement action was carried out.
Daljit Singh, Joint Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation, stated that during the sealing operation, the Corporation's team took custody of five animals found at the dairy and imposed a fine of ?35,000. The seized animals included two large and three small livestock. This action was executed under Section 333 of the Municipal Corporation Act, 1994. A team from the Animal Husbandry Department tagged the seized animals on the spot, after which they were transported to the Municipal Corporation's *Gaushala* (cow shelter) located in Phusgarh.
Subsequently, the enforcement team proceeded to seal another cattle dairy located in Lane No. 7 on Rajwaha Road in Shiv Colony; however, upon arrival, no animals were found at the site. The dairy operator informed the team that he had already relocated his dairy operations outside the municipal limits—a claim that was corroborated by local residents. Nevertheless, the enforcement team obtained a written undertaking from the dairy operator, pledging that he would not bring animals back to the location in the future. During this inspection, two or three animals were discovered tied up inside a house within the same lane; consequently, the concerned homeowner was instructed to remove the animals from within the municipal limits as soon as possible.

The Joint Commissioner unequivocally stated that no cattle dairy would be permitted to operate within the territorial limits of the Karnal Municipal Corporation. He emphasized that it would be prudent for dairy operators currently running dairies within the city to relocate their operations to the Pingli Dairy Complex without delay. He further affirmed that the Karnal Municipal Corporation would continue to conduct regular enforcement drives to seal illegal dairies and seize livestock. Today's operation was conducted under the leadership of Duty Magistrate and Deputy Municipal Commissioner Vinod Nehra. The team comprised Superintendent Manoj Maan, Assistant Pradeep Sharma, Chief Sanitation Inspector Surendra Chopra, Sanitation Inspector Mandeep Singh, Assistant Sanitation Inspector Pravesh Kumar, a Veterinary Surgeon from the Animal Husbandry Department, and members of the police force.
