Chandigarh, May 27:- Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini said that all the ITI workshops of the state should be modernized and equipment should be made available here as per modern requirements. To ensure employment to all students, ITI courses and studies should be prepared as per the needs of the industries so that the youth can get employment as soon as the course is completed and the industries can get skilled youth as per their needs. Along with this, self-employed youth should also be encouraged and they should be helped to convert their ideas into start-ups.
The Chief Minister gave these instructions while reviewing the next 5-year action plan of the Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Department at the Haryana Civil Secretariat today under Haryana Vision 2047. He said that teachers of all the institutes providing ITI, polytechnic and vocational education should also be trained from time to time and coordinated with the industries so that they can prepare their students as per the demand of the time. The government is also giving incentive money to the industries that employ the youth so that maximum youth can get employment. The Chief Minister said that with time, the needs of the industries have changed but training institutes like ITI are still imparting education in the old way. Due to this, the industries are not getting efficient youth and the youth who have completed the course are not getting employment. For this, it is necessary that the courses and workshops in all ITIs should be completely modernized as per the demand of the industries. Principal Secretary of the Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Department Shri Rajiv Ranjan said that a survey is being conducted to modernize the workshops of ITIs. In the first phase, orders have been placed for the purchase of modern equipment worth Rs 10 crore for the ITIs that have been surveyed, and these equipment will soon reach the ITIs.
The Chief Minister said that the department should sign MoUs with the industries to provide training to the youth as per the needs of the industries and make them employable. The department should study their needs by coordinating with all the industries and prepare skilled youth accordingly. He said that in the meeting to be held in the next quarter, the department should provide them with details of how many agreements have been signed with industries.
Shri Naib Singh Saini said that ITI and polytechnic teachers should also be trained so that they can also update themselves as per the need of the time. ITI teachers should also be sent to industrial units to study the needs of the industries. Similarly, representatives or experts of industries should be invited to ITIs from time to time and guidance programs should be conducted for the students. Officials said that a proposal is being prepared to open a state-level instructor training center in Kurukshetra. The Chief Minister said that until this center is ready, training of teachers should be done from this year in collaboration with the state's Shri Vishwakarma Kaushal University.
Principal Secretary of the Department of Future, Amneet P Kumar said that training centers will be opened in 4 districts in the state to provide employment to the youth abroad through the Department of External Cooperation. Places have been identified for these in two districts, Karnal and Panchkula, the process of selecting two districts is underway. After the start of this center, maximum number of youth can be prepared for employment abroad. He said that there is a need for about 80 thousand truck drivers in Canada. To fulfill this need, the department is in talks with Ashok Leyland, where children can be trained and provided employment abroad.
The Chief Minister said that maximum number of job fairs should be organized to provide employment to the youth. The Chief Minister, while seeking information about the number of job fairs organized last year and the number of youth employed through them, said that the youth who received placement and offer letters should be tracked so that it can be known whether they have got permanent employment or not. He said that the employment officers should also keep visiting the industries and get information about their needs and guide the students accordingly. On this occasion, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Arun Kumar Gupta, OSD to the Chief Minister and Director General of Swaran Jayanti Haryana Institute of Financial Management Dr. Raj Nehru and Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Yashpal Yadav were also present.
