Hoshiarpur: Sanjeev Talwar, the Shiromani Akali Dal's in-charge for the Hoshiarpur constituency, along with other party workers, paid a special visit today to Hoshiarpur's main grain market (Dana Mandi). Observing the dilapidated condition of the market and the glaring lack of administrative arrangements, Talwar lashed out at the incumbent government, labeling it "inexperienced."
Speaking to journalists during the visit, Sanjeev Talwar stated that while wheat procurement is officially scheduled to commence on April 1st as per government directives, the reality on the ground is deeply concerning. He pointed out that the roads within the market premises are severely damaged.
Let alone the actual procurement process, it has become virtually impossible for farmers to even bring their crop-laden trolleys inside the market. Filth and squalor prevail throughout the market, with absolutely no sign of sanitation or cleanliness—a situation that is bound to cause immense hardship for farmers and laborers alike.
Launching a scathing attack on the government, Sanjeev Talwar remarked:
"The Shiromani Akali Dal strongly condemns this negligence. This is a government of rhetoric, not of action. The entire administrative machinery has collapsed completely. A government that cannot even ensure the repair of market access roads *before* the procurement season begins—what facilities can it possibly provide to the farmers?"
He further added that this blatant disregard by the government makes it abundantly clear that they have absolutely no concern for the plight of the farmers. Sanjeev Talwar noted that today, farmers are fondly recalling the era of Sardar Parkash Singh Badal's administration, when the government itself took full responsibility for safeguarding every single grain of their harvest and ensured that basic amenities were readily available to them within the market.
Issuing a stern warning to both the administration and the government, Sanjeev Talwar demanded that the roads within the grain market be repaired and the premises thoroughly cleaned with immediate effect. He further demanded that robust arrangements be made to provide drinking water, electricity, and adequate seating facilities for the farmers within the market, ensuring that they do not face any difficulties whatsoever. 
On this occasion, Bhupinder Singh (Circle President, Mehdipur), Jagtar Singh (Circle President), Santokh Singh Aujla, Nambardar Tirath Singh Sataur, Harjit Singh, Vijay Singh, Manjit Singh, Tarlochan Singh, and Manor Singh Mehdipur were also present.
