Karnal, 4th August:- District Police Karnal has successfully solved the sensational case of firing due to old enmity and arrested five accused involved in the incident. This action was taken by the CIA Assandh team on the basis of secret information, technical evidence and continuous raids. Police has also recovered a Creta car used in the crime from the possession of the accused.
In this regard, DSP Assandh Gorakhpal Singh (HPS) while addressing the press conference said that as per the directions of Superintendent of Police Karnal, under Operation Track Down, with the objective of effectively curbing heinous crimes in the district, the team constituted under the leadership of CIA Assandh in-charge Sub Inspector Salinder Kumar took swift action and arrested five accused involved in the incident.
The DSP said that the CIA Assandh team, on the basis of secret information, conducted a raid in the New Anaj Mandi, Assandh area and arrested the accused. The arrested accused have been identified as Amrit Virk son of Gurvinder Singh resident of Kaithal Road, Panchayat Dera Pindoria, District Karnal, Amritpal Singh alias Happy son of Sukhvinder Singh resident of village Shekhupura, District Karnal, presently tenant Street No. 16, Karn Vihar, Karnal, Gurvinder Singh alias Gulab Singh son of Suba Singh resident of Market Road, near Gaushala, Osho Ashram, Janakpuri, Karnal, Harmandeep Singh alias Hamu son of Nirmal Singh resident of Dera Pindoria, Kaithal Road, Assandh, presently resident of Ward No. 6, behind Indira Colony, Assandh, District Karnal and Mandeep Singh Bajwa son of Inderjeet Singh resident of Dera Bajwa, village Ardana, District Karnal. Police has also recovered the Creta car used in the crime from the possession of the accused.
The DSP said that in this regard, a case was registered on 31st July 2026 at Police Station Assandh on the complaint of complainant Harpreet Singh alias Happy resident of CHD City, Karnal. The complainant told that on the night of 30th July 2026, he was returning from Assandh to Karnal in a Scorpio car with his companion. During this, accused riding in several vehicles chased him due to old enmity, blocked his way and fired at him with intent to kill. During firing, bullets hit the fender and rear tyre of his vehicle, due to which the tyre burst. After that the accused fled from the spot.
Considering the seriousness of the matter, as per the directions of Superintendent of Police Karnal, the CIA Assandh team, on the basis of technical evidence, secret information and continuous raids, arrested all five accused.
The arrested accused will be produced in the court and taken on police remand, so that intensive interrogation can be done regarding recovery of weapons used in the crime, other vehicles used in the incident and absconding accused. Investigation of the case is going on and police is continuously conducting raids for arrest of remaining accused.
