Nawanshahr:- Today, the Mid-day Meal Workers Union, led by District Vice President Raj Rani, Daljit Kulam, Bina Mukandpur, Kiran Mallu Pota, Kamaljit Kaur Pradhan Banga, submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar in the name of the Chief Minister regarding their demands.
The leaders mentioned the demands in the memorandum that they should be given a minimum wage of Rs 18,000 till they are regularized in full scale, their identity cards should be made, uniforms for hot and cold seasons should be given, all kinds of holidays should be given along with salary like female employees, the number of pre-nursery children should be included in primary schools and two workers should be kept in each school, one worker should be kept for every 25 children, every worker should be insured for Rs 5 lakh, in case of death in any accident, the family member should be given priority in the job, no other work should be taken forcibly except mid-day meal work. The leaders warned that mid-day meal would be stopped from July 1 if the above demands were not met.
The delegation also included pensioner leaders Karnail Singh Rahon, Ashok Kumar, Joga Singh, Des Raj Bajjon, Geeta Rani, Satnam Kaur, Nachhattar Kaur, Manju Bala, Asha Rani, Jeevan Jyoti, Nandani, Kamaljit Kaur, Baljinder Kaur, Mandeep Kaur, Sonia, Parjinderjit Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur, Asha Rani, Manjit Rani, etc.
