Hoshiarpur, September 7:- With the objective of registering youth in the 18-19 age group as voters and making them aware of their right to vote, a meeting was held today at Rayat-Bahra Professional University under the chairmanship of OSD (Urban Affairs) Oashi Mandal to review preparations for the mega event scheduled to be held at Rayat-Bahra Professional University on September 10 at 11 a.m. SDM Hoshiarpur Paramprit was also present.
During the meeting, OSD Oashi Mandal said that Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ashika Jain would attend the programme as the chief guest. She reviewed the status of voter registration among youth in the 18-19 age group with the concerned officials and representatives of educational institutions. She directed the officials to conduct a special campaign to ensure that all eligible youth in the district are registered as voters and are made aware of the importance of voting.
She said that to strengthen the participation of youth in the democratic process, it is essential that every eligible young person gets their name enrolled in the electoral roll. She directed educational institutions to provide students with information about the voter registration process and also motivate them to exercise their right to vote.
During the meeting, Oashi Mandal reviewed the preparations for the mega event to be held on September 10 and directed the concerned officials to work in coordination and complete all necessary arrangements on time to ensure the success of the programme.
Election Tehsildar Ramandeep Kaur, SVEEP Nodal Officer Ankur Sharma and other concerned officials were present at the meeting. In addition, representatives of Government College Hoshiarpur, various technical and higher educational institutions, and SVEEP officials from all assembly constituencies of the district participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
