Hoshiarpur - The district administration today launched a unique and inspiring initiative to prepare for the Nagar Kirtan, dedicated to the 350th anniversary of the unparalleled martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Under the "Meeting on Wheels," a joint team of civil and police administration, led by Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain and SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik, conducted a detailed inspection of the Nagar Kirtan route from Mukerian to Hoshiarpur on a bus. During the "Meeting on Wheels," every major location along the route, security arrangements, langar sites, electricity and sanitation arrangements were closely reviewed.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Amarbir Kaur Bhullar, Assistant Commissioner Oeshi Mandal, all SDMs, SPs, DSPs, and officials from other relevant departments were present on this inspection tour. Sitting on the same bus, visiting the site to assess problems and devise solutions makes this initiative special. This "Meeting on Wheels" was not only an administrative exercise, but also a testament to teamwork and coordination at the grassroots level. It also proved to be a shining example of the importance of the people.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain stated that this historic Nagar Kirtan, which began in Srinagar, will enter Hoshiarpur district on November 21st via Pathankot. It will travel via Mukerian and Dasuha, then reach Gurdwara Rampur Khera, where it will rest for the night. On November 22nd, the Nagar Kirtan will reach Hoshiarpur city via Bhunga and Haryana, where the district administration will present a guard of honor. It will then proceed to Sri Anandpur Sahib via Chabbewal, Mahilpur, Saila Khurd, and Garhshankar.
During the inspection, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain informed reporters that she had directed all departments to ensure the best possible cleanliness, electricity, drinking water, langar, traffic, and security arrangements along the route. She also stated that the arrangements had been reviewed by meeting with the langar committees. Coordination meetings are underway at the SDM and DSP levels with Gurdwara Management Committees, Municipal Councils, Market Associations, and local representatives to ensure that devotees are not inconvenienced. There should be no inconvenience.
SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik stated that the police department has prepared a detailed plan for traffic and security arrangements during the Nagar Kirtan. Police deployment and surveillance will be strengthened at all sensitive locations. He added that this "Meeting on Wheels" exercise symbolizes that both the administration and police are fully prepared to celebrate this historic occasion with reverence, discipline, and grandeur.
