Una, March 9:- A meeting was held today (Monday) at the Himachal Pradesh State Scheduled Caste Commission office in Rampur, chaired by Kuldeep Kumar Dhiman, Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh State Scheduled Caste Commission and former Minister. During the meeting, various cases presented before the Commission were discussed in detail, and a total of 17 cases were heard.
During the meeting, Kuldeep Kumar Dhiman stated that all cases have been taken seriously and thoroughly reviewed. Cases involving various departments will be forwarded to the relevant departments for necessary action so that affected individuals can receive timely justice. He stated that the Commission is fully committed to protecting the rights of Scheduled Castes and ensuring their access to justice.
Dhiman also announced that a large public awareness camp will be organized on March 15th at the Ambedkar Bhawan Hall in Thanakalan. The primary objective of this camp is to raise awareness among Scheduled Castes about their constitutional rights and to provide detailed information about various public welfare schemes run by the Himachal Pradesh government. He stated that such awareness programs play a vital role in empowering the vulnerable sections of society.
In addition, during the meeting, Rajmahe, State General Secretary of the National Dalit Human Rights Campaign, and Nidhi, Executive Coordinator of the National Dalit Human Rights Campaign (NCDHR), also presented their views before the Commission. They apprised the Commission of the various challenges faced by the Dalit community and issues related to their constitutional rights. They also emphasized the need for collective efforts to increase awareness in society and ensure the protection of rights.
Commission members Advocate Vijay Dogra, Shalini, Member Secretary Virendra Sharma, and other dignitaries were also present at the meeting.
