New Delhi/Chandigarh, January 7, 2026: For the first time in the history of Haryana, a mass protest by working journalists is being organized at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. This mass protest will be held in February at the call of the Working Journalists Association of Haryana.
Giving more information about the protest, Dr. Indu Bansal, the convener and leader of the protest and the founder and state president of the Working Journalists Association of Haryana, said that the main objective of this mass protest is to get the Journalist Protection Act implemented in Haryana and to get all the pending demands of journalists fulfilled by the government as soon as possible.
Dr. Bansal appealed to all working journalists associated with print, electronic, and digital media in Haryana to participate in this mass protest in large numbers, saying that only the unity of journalists can ensure their safety, respect, and rights.
Dr. Bansal said that all district units of the Working Journalists Association of Haryana should provide information about the number of print, electronic, and digital media journalists participating in the mass protest from their respective districts to the state office's WhatsApp number 8675308030 so that the government and administration can be informed about the strength of working journalists participating in the protest.
This will also allow for proper arrangements to be made for seating, food, flags, banners, and other necessary protest materials at the protest site for all working journalists.
Dr. Bansal appealed to all working journalists to bring their press identity cards with them to the mass protest.
Dr. Bansal said that this mass protest, organized by the Working Journalists Association of Haryana at Jantar Mantar in Delhi in February, will prove to be a milestone and will give a new direction to the working journalists of Haryana.
