S.A.S. Nagar:- The martyrdom day of the "Crown of Martyrs" and "Embodiment of Peace," the fifth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, was observed with great devotion at Gurdwara Singh Shaheedan, Sohana, the sacred site associated with Amar Shaheed Jathedar Baba Hanuman Singh Ji. To mark the occasion, the Sukhmani Seva Society concluded 40 days of continuous recitation of Sri Sukhmani Sahib. Following this, a day-long religious program was organized.
The International Dhadi Jatha of Bhai Gurbhej Singh Gafil (Faridkot) recounted the unparalleled martyrdom of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji against oppression and tyranny. The Ragi Jatha of Bhai Yogesh Singh (Hazoori Ragi, Gurdwara Manji Sahib, Alamgir) connected the congregation with the divine through melodious Kirtan. Bhai Jatinder Singh (Shiromani Pracharak, Damdami Taksal) provided a detailed account of the Guru's literary contributions, including the 2,218 hymns in 30 ragas compiled in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Various other Jathas and scholars, including those from Jawaddi Taksal and local Hazoori Jathas, enthralled the sangat with Gurbani Kirtan, Kathas, and spiritual discourses throughout the day. Thousands of devotees took a holy dip in the sacred sarovar of the shrine.
A free medical camp was organized where expert doctors examined patients, and medicines were provided free of cost by the Gurdwara Management Committee. Chabeel (sweet water) and Guru Ka Langar were served to the sangat throughout the day.
