Una, June 19: To facilitate candidates appearing for the NEET-2026 examination, the state government has decided to provide free travel facilities on HRTC ordinary buses. Acting on the instructions of Transport Minister and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) headquarters has issued a directive to all unit officers to provide free travel to NEET aspirants from June 20 to June 22. The NEET examination is scheduled for June 21.
Shri Agnihotri noted that many students from the state travel from remote areas to reach their examination centers. This decision was taken with the convenience of students and their parents in mind, ensuring that no candidate faces transport-related difficulties in reaching the exam center. He stated that the government wants students to appear for the exam stress-free, without any additional worry or financial burden.
According to HRTC guidelines, this facility will be available on the corporation's ordinary buses. Candidates will be able to travel for free—once to the exam center and once back—based on their NEET admit card. The admit card itself will serve as valid proof of identity, residence, and the examination center.
Extending his best wishes to all NEET aspirants, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that the state government is committed to the bright future of the youth and prioritizes providing all possible support to students appearing for competitive examinations.
