Karnal, August 28: As part of the special campaign launched by the Karnal District Police against drug traffickers, continuous, strict, and effective action is being taken against individuals involved in the illegal drug trade. In this ongoing effort, the CIA Assandh team has successfully arrested an accused person with 20 grams of heroin.
The operation was conducted by the team under the leadership of CIA Assandh In-charge, Sub-Inspector Salinder. Acting on a tip-off, the Investigating Officer, Sub-Inspector Dalsher Singh, along with the team, apprehended the accused late in the evening on Khizrabad Road, Assandh. A search of the accused led to the recovery of 20 grams of heroin.
The arrested individual has been identified as Baljit Kumar, son of Ratna, a resident of Ward No. 6, Indira Colony, Assandh, District Karnal.
A case has been registered at the Assandh Police Station under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and the accused has been arrested. The police are subjecting the accused to intensive interrogation. Preliminary questioning has revealed that criminal cases under various sections have previously been registered against him.
Based on the interrogation, the police are identifying other individuals linked to the drug trafficking network and investigating their roles, ensuring that legal action can be taken against all those involved in this illegal trade in accordance with the law.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
