Kharar (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), March 6:- Under the directions of SSP Shri Harmandeep Singh Hans, and under the supervision of Shri Saurav Jindal, Captain of Police (Investigation), Shri Talwinder Singh, Captain of Police (Operation) and Shri Rajan Parminder Singh, Deputy Captain of Police (Investigation), the CIA staff of District SAS Nagar has succeeded in arresting one accused and recovering an illegal .32 bore pistol and 05 live rounds from him.
According to the information received, on March 05, 2026, the CIA team was present at village Gharuan near Kharar-Ludhiana road. Meanwhile, the team received confidential information that Dalvir Singh alias Kaka, son of Gurpal Singh, resident of village Tajpura, district Ropar, is carrying illegal weapons and will come towards Kharar from Morinda in vehicle number PB-65-S-1112, brand Skoda Rapid (white color).
On the basis of the information, the police immediately conducted a blockade. During the blockade, the said vehicle was stopped and searched, during which the accused was arrested. During the search, an illegal .32 bore pistol and 05 live cartridges were recovered from him.
In this regard, case number 81 dated 05-03-2026 under sections 25, 54 and 59 Arms has been registered in Sadar Police Station, Kharar, district SAS Nagar and further action has been initiated.
**Disclosures during interrogation**
During police remand, the accused Dalvir Singh alias Kaka, who is about 40 years old, married and has passed 12th class, told in the preliminary interrogation that he had purchased this weapon about 7-8 months ago. Cases of theft and fighting have been registered against the accused earlier.
Other accomplices of the accused have also been named in this case. The police are conducting raids to arrest them and more recoveries are likely to be made.
