Hoshiarpur: In accordance with the directives of the Punjab Government, a special campaign has been launched to curb drug-related offenses. In furtherance of this initiative—and under the guidance of Shri Sandeep Kumar Malik, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Hoshiarpur, and with the assistance of Shri Daljit Singh Khakh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Garhshankar—Inspector Ramandeep Kaur, Station House Officer (SHO) of Mahilpur Police Station, was present at Adda Rampur Jhanjowal on May 17, 2026, for routine patrolling and checking duties.
At that time, an informer provided a tip-off stating that Daljit Singh alias Manga, son of Harnam Singh—a resident of Chak Nariyal, falling under the jurisdiction of Mahilpur Police Station, District Hoshiarpur—was engaged in the business of selling *Doda Chura Post* (crushed poppy pods) from his residence.
Acting upon this information, a raid was conducted at the residence of Daljit Singh alias Manga (son of Harnam Singh, resident of Chak Nariyal, Mahilpur Police Station, District Hoshiarpur). During the raid, a total of ?10,000 in drug money and 12 kg 708 grams of *Doda Chura Post* were recovered from the premises, following which a formal case was registered. Further in-depth investigation into the matter is currently underway.
