Sangrur, 19 August:- Orders have been issued by Deputy Commissioner, Mrs. Poonamdeep Kaur that on occasion of death anniversary of Shaheed Sant Harchand Singh Longowal 20 August 2026, day Thursday will be local holiday in Sangrur district.
Deputy Commissioner told that like every year this time also on occasion of death anniversary of Shaheed Sant Harchand Singh Longowal at Longowal large number of people reach and pay tribute to him.
In view of this in all government and semi-government offices including all educational institutions, government and non-government, of district Sangrur 20 August 2026 has been declared as local holiday.
This order will not be applicable to those schools and colleges where Board or University examinations/practical examinations are scheduled to be held on 20 August.
