Sunam, September 15, 2026:- During the block-level games of Block Sunam under Season 4 of 'Khedan Vatan Punjab Dian', Pritam Singh Peetu, Chairman, Improvement Trust, specially attended the event today, blessed the players and encouraged them to remain connected with sports and bring laurels to their area and parents in the country and abroad.
Navdeep Singh, District Sports Officer, Sangrur, said that during these games, tournaments in football, kho-kho, volleyball shooting and volleyball smashing are being organised at Shaheed Dalel Singh Sports Stadium, Chhahar, while tournaments in kabaddi circle style, national style and athletics are being organised at Shaheed Udham Singh College, Sunam.
The Punjab Sports Department has also included cricket in these games this time, under which a cricket tournament is also being organised.
Players are participating enthusiastically in these games and setting records in various sports. Players from all age groups are participating in these games.
During the volleyball shooting Under-17 (boys) competition, the team of Mahant Amar Singh Sports Club Bir Kalan defeated the team of village Chhatha Nanhera to secure first place.
In the athletics age category of 21 to 30 years, Harjot Singh secured first place by recording the longest jump, while Goindip Singh secured second place.
