Garhshankar:- A special Ardas ceremony is being held on Saturday, August 29, at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar, which is being run under the management of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, for the release of imprisoned Sikhs who have been in jail for a long time. College Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira said that under the directions of Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, collective Ardas ceremonies are being held in all Gurdwaras and educational institutions of the Shiromani Committee on August 29.
Under this, the entire teaching, non-teaching staff and students of the college will recite Sri Sukhmani Sahib in congregation and after the completion of the recital, at 10 am, the entire congregation prayed at the feet of Akal Purakh for the release of imprisoned Sikhs who have been in jail for a long time despite completing their sentences.
Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira said that the main objective of such events is to sensitize the students and the younger generation about this important and serious issue of the Sikh Panth and also to make them aware of the rights of their national heritage.
