Garhshankar, April 15:- The History Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur here organized two special lectures on the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of the architect of the Constitution, Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar. On this occasion, Principal Vinay Kumar from DAV College Hoshiarpur presented his views on the multifaceted contribution of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar to the Indian society and Prof. Suresh Kumar from GGDSD College Haryana presented his views on the main concepts of the ideology of Guru Ravidas Ji.
College Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh, Head of the History Department Dr. Dev Kumar and Prof. Anil Kalsi welcomed the guest speakers. On this occasion, Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh shared the welcome remarks. He encouraged the students to read literature on science, politics and other subjects outside their curriculum and to follow the teachings of leaders who have made great contributions to the society.
The first speaker of the ceremony, Principal Vinay Kumar, said that Dr. Ambedkar is known as the creator of the Constitution and a reformist leader of the Dalit society, but there were many other aspects to his personality. He said that Dr. Ambedkar did many important works for the rights of women. He made a great contribution to the Indian society for the welfare of the working class, against the exploitation of the peasantry by the landlords and as an economist.
He said that Dr. Ambedkar, a great thinker of the twentieth century, has done revolutionary work for the improvement of every section of the society, which the students need to read more deeply.
