Karnal, November 19: A team from the Gharaunda District Police Station, led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramesh Kumar, arrested accused Somveer, son of Nafe Singh, resident of Choprapatti, Narwana, Jind, on a production warrant.
The investigating officer stated that on the night of October 13, 2025, Jitendra, Deepak, and Sachin, following a minor altercation, fired at a CNG petrol pump employee and fled the scene. They have been arrested and sent to jail. The main accused, Somveer, was also involved in the incident. The team arrested him and obtained a one-day police remand. During the remand, the accused was interrogated. During the interrogation, the accused revealed that he had fired the shots with an illegal weapon.
Apart from the above case, cases have been registered against the accused under six different sections:
1. Case No. 165 dated 23/07/2016 under sections 323/452/506/34 IPC, Police Station Sadar Narwana, Jind.
2. Case No. 227 dated 20/05/2019 under sections 323/324, 307/506/34 IPC & SC/ST Act, Police Station Civil Lines Kaithal.
3. Case No. 264 dated 19/09/2018 under section 160 IPC, Police Station City Narwana, Jind.
4. Case No. 203 dated 18/08/2023 under sections 307/506/34 IPC & 25/54/59 Arms Act, Police Station City Karnal.
5. Case No. 337 dated 09/11/2025 under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act, Police Station Sadar Narwana, Jind.
6. Case No. 593 dated 14/11/2025 under Sections 109(1)/3(5)BNS & 25/54/59 of the Arms Act, Police Station Sector 29, Panipat.
In this case, after the expiry of the remand period, the accused was produced before the Hon'ble Court again and sent to judicial custody.
