Fatehabad, February 8: To curb the increasing incidents of theft and burglary in the state and to ensure the safety of the general public, *Superintendent of Police Mr. Siddhant Jain, IPS* has issued an important security advisory for citizens. He said that it has been observed in urban and rural areas that when families leave their homes for any reason and their houses or shops remain closed for a long time, anti-social elements target such places and commit thefts and burglaries.
*The Superintendent of Police* said that mutual cooperation between the police and the public is essential for effective control of crime. If the general public remains vigilant and informs the police in time, most incidents can be prevented beforehand.
*SP Mr. Siddhant Jain, IPS* has appealed to all citizens of the district that whenever they plan to leave their home or shop for any reason—whether for a few hours, a day, or several days—they should definitely inform their nearest police station or dial 112. While giving the information, they should also mention the duration of their absence and the complete address of their house or shop.
He explained that receiving such prior information helps the police to maintain extra vigilance in the concerned area. During night patrolling, beat policing, and surprise inspections, police personnel keep a special watch on such closed houses and shops, so that theft or any kind of suspicious activity can be prevented in time.
*The Superintendent of Police* said that sometimes information about houses or shops being closed for a long time reaches anti-social elements, who take undue advantage of it. But if the police are informed in advance, the activities of such elements can be closely monitored and the crime can be foiled before it happens. He clarified that this service is completely free of charge and its sole purpose is to ensure the safety of the citizens. *SP Shri Siddhant Jain* assured the public that the information given to the police would be kept completely confidential and would be used only to strengthen security arrangements. Citizens can contact the police without any hesitation or fear.
He also appealed to citizens to inform their neighbors when going out, install strong locks on their homes and shops, keep valuables in a safe place, use CCTV cameras and other security equipment, and immediately report any suspicious person or activity to the police.
The *Superintendent of Police* said that the foundation of a safe society rests on public cooperation. A little vigilance from the general public can play a crucial role not only in their own safety but also in the safety of their family and the entire community.
Finally, he appealed again to all citizens of the district to inform the nearest police station or the control room by calling 112 before leaving their homes or shops. Your vigilance – our responsibility.
