Haroli/Una, March 6 (Rajveer Chopra): The Department of Pharmacy at Indus International University enthusiastically celebrated National Pharmacy Education Day, honoring the outstanding contributions of Professor Mahadev Lal Shroff, a pioneer in pharmacy education in India. The program aimed to commemorate his contributions to the field of pharmacy education and inspire students to pursue research and innovation.
The program was conducted by Mohan Singh Raizada, Kanika Thakur, and Hardeep Kaur, under the overall coordination of Dr. Mandeep Singh. A tribute ceremony was also organized to remember the legacy of M.L. Shroff and honor his invaluable contributions to the pharmaceutical field.
University Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Registrar Dr. J.S. Rana, Principal of the College of Pharmacy Dr. Mandeep Singh, along with faculty members were present on the occasion and paid tribute to Professor Shroff's visionary leadership.
The program began with the lighting of the lamp by Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Registrar Dr. J.S. Rana, and Principal Dr. Mandeep Singh, marking the auspicious beginning of the ceremony. As the keynote speaker, Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Bahl, in his address, highlighted the inspiring journey of M.L. Shroff and his transformative impact on the pharmaceutical sector.
During the program, several academic activities were organized for the students, including a pharmacy quiz competition, model presentation, poster making (topic: Pharmacy Education and Healthcare), and clinical activities involving case studies and patient consultations.
Pharmacy College Principal Dr. Mandeep Singh delivered an informative lecture on the importance of pharmaceutical devices and their role in the healthcare industry. He also highlighted the importance of academic-industry collaboration, inspiring students to pursue research, innovation, and higher education.
During the program, the semester toppers and university toppers for the 2024-2025 session were honored for their outstanding academic achievements.
In addition, cultural performances such as Haryanvi dance, semi-classical dance, Gidda, and Bhangra were also organized to encourage the students' talents. All participants were awarded participation certificates, while the winners were honored with prizes.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mandeep Singh, Principal of the College of Pharmacy, in which he expressed his gratitude to all the organizers, participants, and guests who contributed to the success of the event.
