Karnal, November 22: The Nagar Kirtan, organized to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the martyrdom of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the ninth Guru of the Sikhs, will be held in Karnal city tomorrow. Varinder Singh, President of the Guru Parv Prabandhak Committee, and Jathedar Indpal Singh, General Secretary, appealed to the Sangat to participate in large numbers.
They stated that the Sikh community has received unprecedented respect during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Numerous government-level programs have been organized in memory of the Gurus. He added that Veer Bal Diwas, declared by the government to honor the martyrdom of the four Sahibzadas, is now celebrated annually.
Indpal Singh stated that former Chief Minister and Union Minister Manohar Lal, while serving as Chief Minister, decided to celebrate the Gurus' Prakash Parv and Martyrdom Day at the state level, honoring the Punjabi language and Sikh heritage. Current Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is also giving full respect to the Sikh community.
He urged the Sangat to reach the main event to be held on November 25 in large numbers and listen to the address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
