Hoshiarpur: In the final match of the second Shaheed Bhagat Singh War Against Drugs Memorial Cricket Premier League, organized by HDCA, SSP 11 defeated DC 11 by 5 wickets to win the title for the second consecutive time. Giving details, HDCA Secretary Dr. Raman Ghai said that in today's final match, DC 11 won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring 151 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Tejinder Chadha scored 65 runs, Piyush scored 54 runs, and Captain Dr. Pankaj Shiv contributed 14 runs. For SSP 11, Tarlochan Rana and Captain Subhash Chandra took 3 wickets each, while Lovepreet and Rocky dismissed one player each from DC 11.  Chasing a target of 152 runs in 20 overs, the SSP 11 team, with excellent batting performances from Pradeep (53 runs), Lovely (49 not out), and Captain Subhash Chandra (31 runs), scored 153 runs in 19.3 overs to win the Shaheed Bhagat Singh War Against Drugs Memorial League title.
In today's final match, former BJP MP Avinash Rai Khanna conducted the toss, and MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal introduced the players and inaugurated the match. On this occasion, former Cabinet Minister and Hoshiarpur MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa distributed the prizes to the players. The chief guests appealed to all sections of society to come forward and contribute to the war against drugs and make Punjab drug-free.
On this occasion, HDCA President Dr. Daljit Khela said that HDCA will continue to organize such cricket leagues in the future to create awareness among the youth about the dangers of drugs and to keep them away from drugs by engaging them in sports. In the second Shaheed Bhagat Singh War Against Drugs Memorial Cricket Premier League, Dr. Pankaj, captain of DC 11, was awarded Man of the Series, Tejinder Chadha was named Best Batsman, Tirlochan Rana Best Bowler, Dr. Upinder Sandhu Best Fielder, and Jatinder Lovely received the award for Best Wicketkeeper of the tournament.
On this occasion, the HDCA specially honored District Coach Daljit Singh, former national player and trainer Kuldeep Dhami, junior coach Daljit Dhiman, Pankaj Pinka, Dinesh Sharma, District Women's Senior Coach Davinder Kaur Kalyan, junior coach Nikita Kumari, and groundsman Sodhi Ram for their contributions to promoting district cricket.
SDM (Mukerian) Urvashi Kumari, former Joint Commissioner Sandeep Tiwari, and Sonalika's Vice President Atul Sharma, who were present on the occasion, were also honored. Former players Sahib Dayal, Vivek Sahni, Ashok Kumar, Manoj Ohri, Jatinder Sood, Advocate Arvind Sood, Subhash Sharma, Thakur Jograj, Amit Thakur, Vicky Arora, and others were present at the final match played today.
