Patiala, 22 May:- On the decision of the State Committee of the Forest Workers Union Punjab—the sole leading and struggling organization of forest workers affiliated with the Punjab Subordinate Services Federation (1406/22B) Chandigarh—as part of the chain of submitting demand letters to the government today on 22 May, a massive protest demonstration was staged in front of the office of Divisional Forest Officer Patiala and Wildlife Division Patiala. 
The protest was presided over by Divisional President Jaswinder Singh Sauja, Sher Singh Sirhind, Jagtar Singh Shahpur, Bhupinder Singh Sadhoheri, and Joga Singh Wazirpur. Despite the intense heat since this morning, a large number of forest workers arrived at this protest with full enthusiasm, carrying their flags, mottoes, and banners, and raising slogans.
Addressing the protest, leaders of the Punjab Subordinate Services Federation Darshan Singh Belumajra, Jasveer Singh Khokhar, Dharmpal Singh Laut, and Rajpal Lasoi stated that the Punjab Government is not regularizing the workers who have been working in the Forest and Wildlife Department for 30/30 years. Merely framing a placement policy to provide work up to 58 years of age in the department on a salary of 15000 is a cruel joke on the forest workers. 
Due to the non-payment of salaries to the daily-wage workers in the department for the past three months, the families of the forest workers are deeply distressed. The government, which makes enticing promises to the people, has not regularized even a single forest worker despite almost 4.5 years having passed, because of which heavy resentment and restlessness are being felt among the forest workers.
The forest workers staged a protest demonstration in front of the office of the Divisional Forest Officer Patiala and sent a demand letter to the Punjab Government through the Honorable IFS Conservator of Forests (South Circle) Patiala, the Honorable Divisional Forest Officer Wildlife Patiala, and the Divisional Forest Officer Patiala. 
They decided that if the government does not release the salaries of the Forest and Wildlife workers, does not remove the condition of continuous 10 years of service for the uneducated workers working for a long time in the Forest and Wildlife Department to regularize temporary workers, and does not resolve other demands, then a massive protest demonstration followed by a flag march will be held in Bhoa, the constituency of the Forest Minister of Punjab, on the upcoming 10 June.
Apart from others, Naresh Kumar Bosar, Bhinder Ghagga, Swaranjit Singh, Jaswant Singh, Mahinder Singh Kath Mathi, Jeet Khan, Gurdev Kaur, Gurmail Singh Bishanpura, Balkar Singh Bathoi, Inderjit Kaur Chupki, Jaspal Kaur, Amarjit Kaur, Jasveer Kaur, Kuldeep Singh, Hakam Khan, Buddh Singh, Satnam Singh Sauja, Harcharan Singh, Gurjit Singh, Jasveer Kaur, and Kuldeep Kaur Mangewal were present in this protest.
