Chandigarh, October 14- So far, payment of Rs 4214.85 crore has been directly transferred to the bank accounts of farmers during the Kharif procurement season 2025-26 in Haryana. In this way, the government has ensured payment of minimum price to the farmers.
A spokesperson of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department of Haryana said that the state government is continuing the work of procurement of paddy in all the grain markets of the district in a smooth manner, keeping in view the rights of the farmers.
He said that paddy is being procured by Hafed, Warehouse and Food and Supply Agencies in the district. Instructions have been given to the concerned departments to ensure that the farmers do not face any inconvenience in selling the paddy crop.
Paddy is being purchased from farmers registered on Meri Fasal Mera Biora portal. Till now, paddy has been purchased from 1,67,404 farmers registered on Meri Fasal Mera Biora portal in the state.
The spokesperson said while giving information here today that till now a total of 30,19,844 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased in the mandas across the state.
He said that 20,49,941 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been lifted from the mandas of various districts so far. So far, 27,10,580 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have been purchased from the mandas.
It is worth mentioning that the purchase of paddy in the state is done by the Government of India in support of the purchase of paddy at the minimum price and the payment for the crop is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers.
The government is repeatedly appealing to the farmers to bring their crops to the market after drying them properly and as per the standards set by the Government of India.
The state procurement institutions have made adequate arrangements for the procurement of paddy and the work of lifting the paddy is also being expedited. It is worth mentioning that the payment of the MSP fixed by the Government of India for the paddy purchased by the state procurement institutions is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmers. No reduction has been made in the MSP fixed by the Government of India for paddy of Rs 2389 per quintal.
The spokesperson of the department said that instructions have been given to keep the facilities like electricity, drinking water, toilets etc. in the markets in good condition. He appealed to the farmers to bring their crops to the market after drying them so that the farmers can get the right price for the crop on time. The farmers should not face any kind of difficulty in selling the paddy crop.
Apart from this, the cleaning work of the paddy brought by the farmers to the state markets and procurement centers is being done by the traders at their own level. Along with this, the government also pays the fees and charges for the market labor work like filling, weighing, sewing, loading etc. at the markets and procurement centers.
