SAS Nagar, November 27:- Mayor of the Municipal Corporation Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu has issued a letter to the Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation and said that the development works passed in various meetings of the Finance and Contract Committee and allotted to various firms and contractors after the completion of the tender process should be started within a week in any case.
The Mayor has warned that if the firms or contractors do not start the work even within this specified time, then a resolution will be presented in the next house meeting to blacklist them. The Mayor has written that there are continuous complaints from the city residents and all the councilors that despite the issuance of work orders, the work has not started at the ground level, due to which the discontent among the citizens is increasing.
He has written that development works are being delayed after receiving tenders, estimates and budgets, which is raising questions about the performance and administrative sensitivity of the Municipal Corporation.
The Mayor said that work orders for many important works like development and maintenance of parks, installation of paver blocks, repair of curb channels, general repair work of roads, construction of yoga center and construction of Dharamshala etc. have been issued on March 20, 2025. Despite all this, work has not started at many sites.
