Karnal, February 17: Shyam Singh Mann, State Organization Secretary of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, stated that the administration is not addressing the farmers, leading to growing anger among them. If any untoward incident occurs, the administration will be solely responsible. He stated that the administration is completely failing to address the farmers' problems. He also warned NHAI officials that if a concrete decision is not taken soon in favor of the farmers, they will be forced to fight an all-out battle.
Shyam Singh Mann was addressing a protest on the Karnal Ring Road near Sohana village, under the aegis of the Bharatiya Kisan Union, on Tuesday. The farmers' protest entered its 12th day on Tuesday. The farmers are continuing their struggle for a service lane on the Karnal Ring Road. Senior farmer leader Satbir Mandhan Garhi Birbal presided over the protest today. A large number of farmers were present on the occasion. They expressed their anger by raising loud slogans against the administration.
State Organization Secretary Shyam Singh Mann, who specially arrived at the protest today, encouraged the protesting farmers and launched a scathing attack on the district administration. Shyam Singh Mann said that a detailed report of this entire movement will be submitted to BKU State President Ratanman. He also informed that keeping in mind the proposed meeting in Delhi, it has been decided to postpone the Halla Bol protest proposed on February 18 for the time being.
He clarified that the strategy for the upcoming movement will be decided on the basis of whatever decision will be taken in the Delhi meeting. The farmers unanimously said that their protest and movement will continue until their demand for service lane is met.
