Karnal, October 7: A shocking incident has come to light in Karnal, Haryana. A family was defrauded of approximately 2.35 crore rupees by promising them US citizenship (PR). A woman in the family died from the shock of this fraud. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

 

*A relationship of trust was formed in 2016.

According to information, Gurvinder Singh, a resident of Karnal, stated that in 2016, Yogesh, his wife, and brother lived as tenants in his house. During this time, the two families grew close, and Yogesh often borrowed money from Gurvinder's family when he needed it.

 

*Family Deceived by the Dream of Sending to America

After some time, Yogesh assured Gurvinder's family that he had contacts in the United States and could secure them permanent citizenship there. He stated that this would cost approximately ?3 crore (approximately $30 million). The family fell for his deception and, beginning in 2018, gradually began giving him money.

 

*?2.35 crore (approximately $2.35 million) and Fake Gold

It is alleged that Yogesh has so far taken ?2.35 crore (approximately $1.90 million) from the family, of which ?1.90 crore (approximately $1.90 million) was transferred online. When Gurvinder Singh asked for information about his citizenship, Yogesh began to evade the matter. Upon demanding his money back, he gave him 800 grams of gold jewelry, which later turned out to be fake.

 

*Death due to the shock of fraud

Gurvinder's wife, Harpreet Kaur, went into severe depression due to this huge financial loss and the shock of the fraud. It is reported that her health deteriorated due to the mental stress, and she eventually succumbed to her injuries.

 

*Postmortem to be conducted today

Upon receiving information about the incident, police arrived at the scene and the body was sent for postmortem. The woman's death has cast a pall of gloom over the entire family.

 

*Police engaged in investigation

On the complaint of the victim's family, police have registered a case of fraud and have begun searching for the accused, Yogesh. Police say that the matter is being thoroughly investigated and the accused will be arrested soon.
