Banga/Nawanshahr- In the joy of becoming the overall champion for the fifth consecutive time in the Zonal Youth Festival organized by Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar under the guidance of Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder at Sikh National College Banga, the Department of Art and Culture organized an honor function for the student artists, coaches and in-charge teachers of the college.
On this occasion, Principal Dr. Tarsem Singh Bhinder expressed happiness and said that by winning the overall trophy for the fifth time for the college during the Youth Festival with a record 114 points, the students and the related teachers have created a proud history.
He said that it is our duty to provide the stage of the Youth Festival to the artist students. With which they are not only making the name of the college shine, but they are also taking steps towards their bright future. The participating teams of the Youth Festival were led by Dr. Gurvinder Singh (Dean Cultural) and Deputy Dean Manmant Singh Librarian.
Dr. Gurvinder Singh congratulated the achievement and said that being the host college, the concerned teachers had to work hard to give time to their teams and it is the result of their hard work. Due to which we were able to win the title of Overall Champion for the fifth time.
During this, Dr. Nirmaljit Kaur, Dr. Kumari Sikh, Prof. Kishore Kumar for Literary teams, Prof. Sham Singh for Music, Prof. Dilnawaz for Fine Arts, Prof. Neelam for Fancy Dress, Prof. Manish Sandhir for Theater, Sardar Manmant Singh Librarian and Bhangra Coach Ustad Pawan Kumar for Bhangra, Simranjit Kaur Sian for Ludi, Theater Coach Zorawar Singh and Ragi Gurpreet Singh were specially honored by garlanding them with flowers.
Before the ceremony, the teachers and students paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Charan Kanwal Sahib and thanked Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and prayed for Chardi Kala for the next competitions.
During the program, the teachers and students shared their experiences and feelings regarding the Youth Festival and invited the audience from the stage and expressed their special gratitude to their teacher Prof. Gurpreet Singh, who had gone to New Zealand, for his efforts.
The stage was conducted by Prof. Tajinder Singh. On this happy occasion, everyone was served a meal and a tea party was also given. Dr. Indu Ratti, Paramjit Singh Superintendent and all the student artists were present on the occasion.
