Chandigarh, June 30:- Under the leadership of Haryana Chief Minister Shri Naib Singh Saini, the Haryana government is continuously working towards making the state a strong hub of film, culture and creative industries. In this series, it has been decided to organize the first 'Haryana Film Festival-2026' in the state from November 12 to 15, 2026.
It is worth mentioning that the Chief Minister had announced the organization of Haryana Film Festival-2026 in his budget speech. In this context, on Tuesday, Director General of Information, Public Relations, Language and Culture Department Shri K. Makrand Pandurang held a high-level meeting regarding the preparations for the festival. The meeting was attended by senior officials and experts from the Department of Art and Cultural Affairs, Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak.
A core committee was also constituted in the meeting for the successful conduct of the event, which will ensure the preparation of the format of the event, selection of programs, coordination with various institutions and agencies, publicity and all other necessary arrangements.
Haryana Film Festival will be celebrated as a prestigious cultural event of national and international level. Through this, Haryanvi cinema, folk culture, art, literature and the rich cultural heritage of the state will get wide recognition at the national and global level. Participation of filmmakers, artists, directors, actors, technical experts, educationists and cultural institutions from the country and abroad will be ensured.
He said that this festival will open doors of new opportunities for artists, filmmakers and young talents and will play an important role in taking Haryana to new heights in the field of film and culture.
SUPVA Vice Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya, Filmmaker Mr. Atul Gangwar, Additional Director Mr. Vivek Kalia, Joint Director Mr. Neeraj, Project Director Dr. Pawan Arya, SUPVA Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik, Faculty Ms. Deepti Khurana, Mr. Keshav and other officials were present in the meeting.
