Chandigarh, 10 October:- As part of the ongoing initiative to transfer benefits under various public welfare schemes to eligible beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) on the 10th of every month, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday facilitated the direct transfer of ₹1,634 crore and 27 lakh into the bank accounts of 50,46,624 eligible beneficiaries across the state through four beneficiaries. The three women beneficiaries and one farmer who pressed the button to transfer the assistance described the experience as memorable and appreciated Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s working style.

The Chief Minister said that the tireless 25 years of national service and determination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made it possible for the double-engine government to turn every rupee sent by the Central Government into ₹1.25 and invest it in development works. He contrasted this with the Congress regime, when, he said, there had been Prime Ministers who claimed that only 15 paise out of every rupee sent by the Central Government reached the ground. He said the state government was committed to ensuring that poor people, farmers, women, youth, senior citizens and other needy sections received the benefits of government schemes directly in their bank accounts, without any inconvenience or intermediaries.

The Chief Minister said that Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and the Family ID-based system had further strengthened transparency in government schemes. By adopting a “proactive model,” the government had established a system to automatically deliver scheme benefits to eligible citizens.
