Una, December 3: Keeping public convenience in mind, the Una Municipal Corporation has extended the parking period at all its parking lots. Half-hour parking is now available for just ?10. This information was provided by Una Municipal Corporation Commissioner and ADC Mahendra Pal Gurjar.
A delegation of city traders met with Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal and requested that the parking period be extended from the previously prescribed 20-minute parking period for ?10 to half an hour. The Deputy Commissioner, in view of public needs, issued the necessary instructions to the Municipal Corporation Commissioner in this regard. In compliance with the Deputy Commissioner's instructions, the Municipal Corporation has extended the parking period.
Commissioner Mahendra Pal Gurjar stated that this initiative by the Municipal Corporation is especially beneficial for those who visit the city for a short period and require quick and accessible parking. He added that the corporation's action against encroachment and haphazard parking in the city will continue. These steps have been taken to ensure public safety, convenience, and improved traffic management. He also appealed for cooperation from the general public.
It is noteworthy that the district administration recently notified "No Parking" and "No Vending" zones at various locations in Una city to address haphazard parking and road congestion. The Municipal Corporation's decision to extend parking periods will help make these administration efforts more effective.
