Ferozepur, August 26, 2026:- Regarding the long-pending demands of Punjab employees and pensioners, organizations associated with the Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front and the Punjab Joint Employees Forum have announced a grand bandh on August 27th. During this bandh, the employees have given great relief to the common people. This information was given by the District President of the PSMS Union, Pipal Singh Sidhu.
He said that the employees are going to observe a grand bandh on August 27, 2026, to achieve their rightful and legitimate demands. During this bandh, the gates of government offices will be closed and only government work will be stopped and no government work will be done. During this bandh, no road will be blocked nor will any shop be closed. Our fight is with the government to achieve our demands, not with the businessmen or the general public.
He said that the employees have been continuously going on a strike since August 17, but still the Punjab government is not paying attention to the demands of the employees. He said that before coming to power, the Punjab government had made promises to the employees and pensioners to accept their demands and resolve their problems. But despite the passage of many years, the important demands of the employees have still not been fulfilled.
The leaders demanded the release of outstanding installments of DA, implementation of the old pension scheme, giving pay scale on the central pattern and cancellation of the letters issued regarding the three-year probation period related to young employees. He said that the government should also implement the decision given by the double bench of the High Court.
He said that the employees and pensioners have been struggling for their legitimate demands for a long time, but the government has not permanently resolved these issues. Those group of leaders met employees of various government institutions, schools, colleges, electricity department, SDM The employees of offices, tehsils and other government offices were appealed to join the bandh, so that this Maha-bandh strike can be successful.
On this occasion, CPF District President Jassir Singh Bhangar, Finance Secretary Pradeep Vinayak along with leaders of various departments were present.
