Patiala 07 January:- Under the banner of Class Four Government Employees Union Punjab (1680), Government Mata Kushlia Hospital, both permanent and casual, fourth grade employees, held a protest rally in front of the main gate despite tight funding, regarding their long-pending demands. The main demand was that equal pay for equal work should be implemented for the outsourced employees who have been working continuously in the hospital for a long time in the face of the decisions of the esteemed high courts, the contractual system should be abolished and the employees should be permanently employed in the hospital and regularized.
Identity cards should be made, working hours should be limited, seniority lists should be prepared, regular recruitment of sanitation workers, ward attendants and watchmen should be done so that the workload of the existing workers can be reduced, considering the buildings and work in the hospital, this regular recruitment should be done. Addressing the rally, State President Darshan Singh Lubana said that during the meeting with the Honorable Health Minister on 22-12-2025, the conditions of the outsourced workers working in the Health Department for a long time were made known and a detailed memorandum was given by the union to implement the decisions of the Honorable High Courts, implement equal work, equal wages and end the contractual practice and regularize the service and the demands of the AT Larva (Breeding) workers were also included.
The Minister had issued orders to the concerned officers to implement the demand but so far none of the demands have been implemented by the concerned officers. He said that on January 26, a flag march will be held at the Honorable Governor Patiala to hoist the flag and a memorandum will be given to him.
That for a long time, the Punjab government has been neglecting employees, pensioners, old pension restoration, scheme workers and contract/outsource/daily workers, part-time, municipal corporation, municipal councilors, sanitation workers, sewermen and keeping mid-day meal workers, sanitation workers in schools at Rs. 3000 and chowkidars at Rs. 5000 is a social exploitation and the government has closed the doors of talks with employee organizations etc. will be included in the issue.
