Panaji:- The ED has seized assets worth Rs 17.45 crore while investigating money laundering against the owners of Goa's 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub. 25 people died due to a fire in this club in December 2025.
According to the investigating agency, this club located in Arpora was being run illegally. In this regard, raids were conducted at the premises of the club's promoters Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra in Delhi, Goa and Haryana during the month of January.
It is noteworthy that on December 6, 2025, when a dance party was going on in this club in Arpora village, a massive fire suddenly broke out. In this accident, 25 people lost their lives and about 50 people were seriously injured.
After the raids against Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra in January, solid evidence has now been collected. The ED has made it clear that the club's operation was not only wrong in terms of licensing, but there were also huge irregularities in its financial transactions. Their business connections spread across Delhi and Haryana have also been brought under the purview of this money laundering investigation. It is worth mentioning that so far only a criminal case was going on in this case of 25 deaths, but the ED's action is a stern warning to all those institutions that illegally earn money at the cost of human lives. These seized properties will now remain under the control of the government till the final outcome of the case.
