New Delhi:- Customs officials posted at Indira Gandhi International Airport have arrested two Indian passengers who arrived in Delhi from Bangkok with 8.77 kg of ganja.
According to a statement issued by the Customs Department, these passengers had landed at Terminal-3 on January 14 and were stopped on suspicion. When their luggage was X-ray screened and thoroughly searched, nine polythene pouches were recovered from a dark blue bag. These pouches contained a green colored drug, which was confirmed to be ganja on examination.
Officials said that the value of this seized drug in the international market is estimated to be around Rs 8.77 crore. Initial indications of it being marijuana were found during field test. The police have seized the narcotics and packaging material and arrested both the accused under strict sections of the NDPS Act and further investigation into the case is underway.
