Chandigarh:- The case of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, a warehouse officer in Amritsar, Punjab, also resonated in the Lok Sabha today. Punjab Police has registered a case against Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar and others in this case, but Gagandeep's family is adamant on the arrest of the accused.
When MP Gurjit Singh Aujla raised this case in Parliament today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that if the MPs write in this regard, he will hand over this case to the CBI. Mr. Shah said that this case belongs to Punjab and if all the MPs of Punjab write in this regard, then they will hand over this case to the CBI.
Gagandeep's family is adamant on not getting the postmortem done until Laljit Bhullar and others are arrested.
The officer's wife Upendra Kaur said that if the accused are not arrested within the stipulated time, the family will be forced to take to the streets to protest. She said that the family is now left with no other option. Meanwhile, a CCTV video of Gagandeep Randhawa eating something poisonous has gone viral. It is of the verandah of his house where he is seen wandering around in distress in the early hours of the morning and then eats something. Meanwhile, the postmortem of the deceased has not been conducted even on the third day after the incident. The family is adamant on demanding the arrest of all those persons, including the minister, who have been named in this case for abetting suicide.
