Patiala:- A meeting between the Forest Workers Union Punjab and the Honorable Forest Minister of Punjab, Sh. Lal Chand Kataruchak, took place today, July 6, at Van Bhawan, Mohali. The meeting was also attended by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Sh. Dharmendra Sharma, Additional Principal Chief Conservators of Forests Sh. Churchill Kumar and Sh. Saurav Gupta, Superintendent Sh. Inderjit Singh, and administrative staff.
During the meeting, the Forest Minister assured the organization that the case for regularizing 14 workers will be considered in the upcoming cabinet meeting. Furthermore, he assured that letters will be issued to all Divisional Forest Officers in Punjab to conduct medical and police verification for 516 illiterate (unskilled) workers. These 516 workers will be handed their appointment letters by the Chief Minister of Punjab within the month of July.
The Minister also assured the early release of the budget for pending financial liberty arrears and outstanding salaries. He directed the issuance of orders for a 'Screening Review Committee' to amend the seniority list dated May 16, 2023. Additionally, instructions were issued on the spot to all officers to prepare a fresh seniority list by March 31, 2026, to facilitate new departmental operations. Consensus was also reached on several other important demands.
The meeting was attended by state leaders of the organization, including State President Amrik Singh Garhshankar, State Secretary Jaswinder Singh Sauja, Secretary Jasbir Singh Seera, Finance Secretary Amandeep Singh Chhat, Senior Vice President Ranjit Gurdaspur, Sher Singh Sirhind, Kewal Garhshankar, Ravikant Ropar, Sulakhan Singh, Satnam Sangrur, Babbu Singh Samao, Ravi Ludhiana, Bhupinder Singh Sadhoheri, and PSSF state leader Gurwinder Singh Khamano, along with various other district-level state leaders.
