Hoshiarpur:- With the aim of providing safe and quality food to the common people and students, the Food Safety Department Punjab is continuously conducting routine inspection campaigns.
Accordingly, under the orders of the Honorable Commissioner Food and Drug Administration Punjab Mr. Dilraj Singh IAS and Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Mrs. Ashika Jain IAS and as per the guidelines of Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Balbir Kumar, under the leadership of District Health Officer Dr. Jatinder Bhatia and in the presence of Food Safety Officer Ishan Bansal, the Food Safety Team Hoshiarpur inspected two schools during a routine inspection campaign in Mahilpur area.
During the inspection, a total of four samples of food items including rice, gram, salt and flour were collected from schools as per the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. These samples have been collected for quality testing. In addition, four more samples of food items including biscuits, candy, khoya and curd were also collected from various Food Business Operators (FBOs) operating in the area.
During the inspection drive, the Food Safety Team encouraged the concerned Food Business Operators to obtain Food Safety Registration/License (where applicable) and gave them necessary instructions to maintain cleanliness, personal hygiene and sanitary conditions at their business premises at all times.
