Una, July 15: The work of house listing and house enumeration under the first phase of Census 2027 has been completed with 100% coverage within the stipulated timeframe in Una district. Marking this achievement, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal honored 19 Charge Officers associated with the census for their excellent work. The top three performing Charge Officers were presented with mementos and certificates of appreciation, while other officers received certificates of appreciation.
In the urban category, Nagar Panchayat Bangana secured the first position. Nagar Council Mehatpur-Basdehra stood second, while Nagar Panchayats Daulatpur Chowk, Amb, and Tahliwal jointly secured the third position. In the rural category, Tehsil Haroli ranked first, Sub-Tehsil Jol second, and Sub-Tehsil Mehatpur-Basdehra and Tehsil Una jointly secured the third position.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal stated that the successful and timely completion of a vital national responsibility like the census is the result of the excellent work ethic, dedication, and team spirit of the district administration, Charge Officers, supervisors, and enumerators. Congratulating all officers and staff, he remarked that the census is a fundamental process of nation-building, providing accurate data for the formulation and effective implementation of development schemes; therefore, the role of every officer and employee involved in this campaign is crucial.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that Una district achieved the third position across Himachal Pradesh for its outstanding performance in the first phase of Census 2027. Lahaul-Spiti secured the first position, followed by Kinnaur in second place. He attributed this success to the collective efforts of the district administration and all officials and staff associated with the census.
He noted that this is the first time the census work is being conducted entirely through digital means. Under this process, enumerators collected information regarding houses and households based on 33 prescribed questions using a mobile application. This first phase of the campaign in Himachal Pradesh began on June 16 and was successfully completed within the stipulated timeframe in Una district.
Expressing gratitude to all concerned officials, supervisors, and enumerators, the Deputy Commissioner urged them to work with the same dedication, transparency, and efficiency in the upcoming phases as well, ensuring the successful completion of the entire Census 2027 campaign.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Ishant Jaswal, Assistant Commissioner Vinay Modi, and Deepak Kumar Yaduvanshi from the Directorate of Census Operations (Shimla)—serving as the District Nodal Officer—along with other officials, were present on this occasion.
