Haroli/Una, April 21 (Rajveer Chopra): An incident of fire breaking out within the premises of Punjab National Bank was reported on Tuesday in the Haroli region of Una district. The mishap occurred at approximately 2:00 PM in the village and post office area of ??Haroli, within the Haroli Tehsil.
The Una Fire Station received the report of the fire at 2:00 PM (14:00 hours), following which a team was immediately dispatched to the scene at 2:01 PM (14:01 hours). With a swift response time of approximately 12 minutes, the fire brigade reached the site and commenced efforts to bring the blaze under control.
According to preliminary information, the fire was triggered by a short circuit in a diesel generator, resulting in property damage estimated at around ?1 lakh. However, thanks to the vigilance and prompt action of the Fire Department, property worth approximately ?10 lakhs was successfully saved.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this incident. A team comprising three personnel—including an LFM, an FM, and a DVR—arrived at the scene with a fire tender (vehicle registration no. HP 72D-0116) and succeeded in extinguishing the fire in the nick of time.
It is reported that the site of the incident is situated approximately 8 kilometers away from the fire station.
