Sangrur- “Self-serving literary creation can never impress the readers, therefore, it is necessary to have expertise in technical education of every genre.” These words were spoken by the eminent Punjabi writer Ranjit Singh Dhuri in his presiding speech at the seminar and poet court organized by Malwa Likhari Sabha Sangrur (Regd.) dedicated to the arrival of Maharishi Valmiki Ji at Likhati Bhawan Sangrur.
Taking the discussion forward, eminent writer Amar Garg Kalamdan said that Punjabis should be proud of the fact that Ramayana, Vedas and Mahabharata were composed in Punjab itself. Dr. Manisha Rani said that there is a need to study Ramayana and Yoga Vashishta Granths on the basis of scientific perspective. At the beginning of the event, renowned writer and social worker Shiv Kumar Ambalvi gave detailed information about the life and works of Maharishi Valmiki.
After the seminar, the executive meeting of the society was held under the chairmanship of Karam Singh Sahu, in which it was unanimously decided to merge the society with the Central Punjabi Writers' Society (Regd.) Sekhon. Among the other resolutions passed, it was also decided to hold the annual meeting of the society on November 2 and to hold the monthly meeting on the first Sunday of every month. Renowned lyricist Meet Skaraudi attended this event as a special poet and was honored by the society.
On this occasion, the poets' court, which began with the poetry of Panthic poet Labh Singh Jhammat, was attended by Sukhwinder Singh Lote, Pawan Kumar Hoshi, Bahadur Singh Dhaula, Baljinder Elwal, Surjit Singh Mauji, Gobind Singh Turbanjara, Gurmukh Singh Dilbar, Rajinder Singh Rajan, Jagjit Singh Ladda, Karam Singh Sahu, Dharamvir Singh, Honey Sangrami, Bhola Singh Sangrami, Shiv Kumar Ambalvi, Mahinder Deep, Ashok Kumar Deepak, Sham Lal, Amar Garg Kalamdan, Mani Khan, Harmanpreet Singh Jakhlan, Aman Jakhlan, Baljinder Bali Retgarh, Meet Skaraudi, Paramjit Kaur, Krishan Gopal, Sarabjit Sangrurvi, Guri Chandar, Suresh Pal, Ranjit Singh Dhuri, Jagtar Nimana, Hardeep Singh Sidhu, Ekamdeep Singh, Balwant Kaur Ghanauri Kalan, Manisha Rani, Khushpreet Kaur, Sukhandeep Kaur, Chamkaur Singh and Poets like Gurnam Singh etc. captivated the audience with their beautiful works.
Like every time, Sukhwinder Singh Lote conducted a poetry school class. At the end, Karam Singh Sahu expressed his gratitude to all the literati who came and Rajinder Singh Rajan played the role of stage manager.
