Sangrur, August 20:- Under the directions of SSP Sangrur Dr. Ravjot Grewal, IPS, and under the able guidance of the SP (H)-cum-District Community Police Officer, Sangrur, the District Police organized a special awareness programme at Government Ranbir College, Sangrur, to commemorate the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. The programme was conducted by Tejinder Singh, PPS, DSP Security and Traffic, in collaboration with the college authorities and staff.
As part of the programme, an essay competition on the life and contribution of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel was organized by Prof. Romi Garg, Principal, Government Ranbir College, along with faculty members of the Commerce Department. As many as 76 students participated enthusiastically in the competition.
Speaking on the occasion, members of the Yuva Sanjh Committee, Prof. Kuldeep Kumar and Prof. Romi Garg, along with Inspector Simranjot Singh, In-charge, District Sanjh Kendra, sensitized the students about the life, ideals and remarkable contribution of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel towards strengthening the unity and integrity of the nation.
Students securing the first three positions—Manpreet Kaur, Chirag Singla and Shaganpreet Kaur—were honoured with prizes. Khushpreet Kaur, Pavneet Kaur and Sandeep Kaur, who secured fourth, fifth and sixth positions respectively, were also presented prizes in appreciation of their performance and as a gesture of encouragement.
Thereafter, students Gagandeep Joshi, Paramjit Kaur and Chirag Singla delivered brief speeches highlighting the life and legacy of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and his invaluable contribution to the unity and integrity of India.
The programme concluded with an appeal to the students to draw inspiration from Sardar Patel’s ideals and actively contribute towards strengthening national unity, integrity and social harmony.
