Una, May 27: Under the second phase of the Panchayati Raj Institutions elections in Una district, voting will be conducted on May 28 across 83 Gram Panchayats spanning all five subdivisions. These include 19 Gram Panchayats from the Amb Development Block, 16 from Bangana, 14 from Gagret, 18 from Una, and 16 from Haroli. The district administration has completed all preparations to ensure that the electoral process is conducted in a peaceful and impartial manner.
District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has instructed all officials and employees appointed for the electoral process to strictly adhere to the Election Commission's guidelines and to conduct the elections in a fair, transparent, and successful manner.
It is to be noted that in the elections scheduled for May 28, voting will take place in the following Gram Panchayats under the Amb subdivision: Dharamshala Mahanta Khas, Badhmana, Nari Chintpurni, Duhal Bangwala, Bhagra, Amb Tilla, Churudu, Polian Purohitan, Ghewat Behar, Kuthiyari, Dilwan, Rajpur Jaswan, Tyai, Kalruhi, Behar Jaswan, Mubarakpur, Bhaira, Takarla, and Kuthera Khairla.
Meanwhile, in Bangana, voting will be held in the Gram Panchayats of Dhundla, Malangad, Arlu Khas, Karmali, Dhiyungli, Thanakalan, Ghughan Kakrana, Dobad, Proiyan Kalan, Budhan, Bairiyan, Bohru, Momanyar, Boul, Raipur, and Sohari.
Similarly, in the Gagret subdivision, voting will be conducted in the Panchayats of Brahmpur, Badhera Rajputan, Ramnagar, Ganu Mandwara, Dangoh Khurd, Loharli, Tatehra, Gagret Upper, Mawa Kohlan, Chatehar, Raipur, Sanghnei, Dangoh Khas, and Nakdoh. In the Una subdivision, voting will be conducted in the following Panchayats: Dehlan Lower, Bhatoli, Nari, Majara, Bahdala Lower, Jhudowal, Basoli, Badoli, Badsala, Dhamandri, Madanpur, Kuriala, Mehatpur, Bhadoliyan Kalan, Malukpur, Upper Bahdala, Badehar, and Dathwara.
Additionally, in the Haroli subdivision, voting will take place in the Gram Panchayats of Lower Panjavar, Khadd, Isupur Tanda, Bhadsali, Bhadsali Har, Dharampur, Baliwal, Haroli, Lower Lalri, Nangal Khurd, Singa, Gondpur Jaichand, Dulaihar, Malluwal, Kutharbeet, and Halera Bilna.
The District Election Officer stated that arrangements for webcasting have been made to monitor the election process in sensitive and hyper-sensitive Panchayats. He added that during the second phase, scheduled for May 28, live webcasting will be conducted in 37 Panchayats. Across all three phases, the voting process in a total of 106 Panchayats will be monitored through the webcasting system.
**Carrying an Identity Proof is Mandatory**
The Deputy Commissioner informed that on the day of voting, it will be mandatory for voters to carry their Voter ID card for identification purposes. If a voter does not possess a Voter ID card, they will be required to present one of the 17 alternative identity documents recognized by the Election Commission. These include passports, driving licenses, Income Tax Identity Cards, photo-bearing service identity cards issued to employees by State or Central Governments, Public Sector Undertakings, or Public Limited Companies; Kisan Passbooks or photo-bearing passbooks issued by banks or post offices; Ration Cards; Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, or Other Backward Class certificates issued by a competent authority; Student Identity Cards; property-related documents such as leases or registered deeds; Arms Licenses; Conductor Licenses issued by a Transport Officer; pension records (such as Ex-servicemen Pension Books or PPOs); certificates issued to the widows or dependents of ex-servicemen; Railway or Bus Passes; Disability Certificates; Freedom Fighter Certificates; and Aadhaar Cards.
