Una, May 29: Under the third and final phase of the Panchayati Raj Institutions elections in Una district, voting will be conducted on May 30 in 81 Gram Panchayats across all subdivisions. These include 19 Gram Panchayats from the Amb Development Block, 15 from Bangana, 13 from Gagret, 18 from Una, and 16 from Haroli. The district administration has completed all preparations to ensure that the election process is conducted in a peaceful and impartial manner.
Preparations regarding this have been finalized. District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal has instructed all officers and employees appointed for the electoral process to strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Election Commission and to conduct the elections in a fair, transparent, and successful manner.
The District Election Officer stated that arrangements for webcasting have been made to monitor the election process in sensitive and hyper-sensitive Panchayats. He further informed that live webcasting will be conducted for 36 Panchayats during the third phase.
It is pertinent to note that on May 30, voting will take place in the following areas under the Amb subdivision: Jwal, Bhated, Chhaproh, Dharamshala Mahanta, Mandholi, Sapouri, Hamboli, Nandpur, Sarda, Badaun, Seri, Kohadchhann, Jwar, Shivpur, Jabehad, Andoura Upper, Diyara, Katohad Kalan, and Thathal.
Meanwhile, in Bangana, voting will be held in the Gram Panchayats of Kharyalta, Dehar, Changar, Chulhadi, Chamyari, Chauli, Chhaproh Kalan, Takoli, Thahra, Dhanet, Palahata, Balh, Balh Khalsa, Budhwar, and Sihana. Similarly, in the Gagret subdivision, voting will be conducted in the Amlehar, Amboa, Marbari, Pirthipur, Saloh Bairi, Mawa Sindhiyan, Kutheda Jaswalan, Baroh, Kuneran, Ghanari, Bhadrakali, Chalet, and Ambota Panchayats.
In the Una subdivision, voting will take place in the Raipur Sahora, Chatara, Panoh, Ajoli, Tabba, Charatgarh, Lamlehri, Batuhi, Tyuri, Chalola, Samur Kalan, Jhamber, Chhatarpur, Khanpur, Binewal, Sasan, Udaipur, and Nangal Salangri Panchayats.
Furthermore, in the Haroli subdivision, Panchayat elections will be held in the Gram Panchayats of Nagnoli, Bhaini Khadd, Pandoga Nichla, Ghaluwal, Lower Badhera, Sainsowal, Rora, Bhadauri, Palakwah, Chandpur, Batt Kalan, Bathri, Bhadiaran, Chhetra, Polian Beet, and Jakhewal.
**Carrying an Identity Proof is Mandatory**
The Deputy Commissioner stated that on the day of voting, it will be mandatory for voters to carry their Voter ID card for identification purposes. If a voter does not possess a Voter ID card, they will be required to present one of the 17 alternative identity documents recognized by the Election Commission. These include passports, driving licenses, Income Tax Identity Cards, photo-bearing service identity cards issued to employees by State or Central Governments, Public Sector Undertakings, or Public Limited Companies; Kisan Passbooks or photo-bearing passbooks issued by banks or post offices; Ration Cards; Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, or Other Backward Class certificates issued by a competent authority; Student Identity Cards; property-related documents such as leases or registered deeds; Arms Licenses; Conductor Licenses issued by Transport Officers; pension records (such as Ex-servicemen Pension Books or PPOs); certificates issued to the widows or dependents of ex-servicemen; Railway or Bus Passes; Disability Certificates; Freedom Fighter Certificates; and Aadhaar Cards.
